Fire/smoke curtain

Fire/smoke curtain (or fire and smoke resistant curtain)

It is an automatic fire protection system designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke in buildings.

A fireproof curtain is an advanced means of protection in the event of a fire, especially in industrial and public buildings. Its main function is to create a barrier between different areas, prevent the spread of fire and smoke, and allow valuable time for evacuation and firefighting operations. The curtain serves as an innovative and effective solution that replaces the traditional fire wall or fire door, while maintaining design flexibility and saving space. Functions and advantages: The significant advantage of a fireproof curtain is that it is installed compactly close to the ceiling, rolled out on a steel tube. Thus, during routine operations, the curtain does not interfere with daily activities and does not reduce the volume of the space. When necessary, the curtain is powered by a 24V electric motor connected to a dedicated control center, backed up by an emergency battery that ensures continuous operation even in the event of a power outage. The fireproof curtain control system is connected to the fire detection center via a dry contact, and is activated automatically upon receiving a command from the system. In addition, the curtain can be activated manually using an emergency button installed near it. The lower part of the curtain incorporates a steel rod that ensures a stable descent and full attachment to the floor, even in the event of a failure of the operating systems. For convenience and ongoing operation, the curtain includes dedicated buttons on both sides, which allow temporary lifting for safe passage from one side to the other.
